Division of IT Employee Recognition Award Program is a program that will recognize and reward Division of IT employees who demonstrate exemplary performance and customer service. It will also recognize those individuals who demonstrate teamwork, leadership, problem-solving skills, creative thinking and professionalism, or make other exemplary contributions to the Division's work environment.
Please read the guidelines below for detailed information about the nomination program and acknowledge them in order to proceed to submit your nominations.
What is the criteria for receiving the Division of IT Employee Recognition Award?
- Employee must have worked for the Division for at least one year
- Employee must not have already received a Spot Award in the current calendar year (Jan - Dec '09)
- Employee is not a member of the CIO Leadership Team
- Employee is classified as OPS, USPS, or A&P
What is the nomination process?
Division of IT employees may nominate other employees within the Division by filling out the nomination form (available on the next screen). Anyone can nominate anyone; i.e., supervisor can nominate a subordinate and vice versa. Employees cannot nominate themselves. Nominations must be submitted before the deadline date that will be published on the website.
What is the selection process?
A committee, made up of one staff member from each unit in the Division, will review all nominations following the nomination deadline date. The committee will select one OPS and one non-OPS to receive the award.
The selection process will involve rating the nominee on a scale from 1 -5 (where 5 is the highest) on the following attributes that they have shown according to the details given on the nomination form:
- Exemplary performance
- Customer service
- Teamwork
- Leadership
- Problem-solving skills
- Creative Thinking
The OPS employee and non-OPS employee who score the highest will receive Spot Awards.
How will the winners be rewarded?
- $500 Cash for each winner (one OPS and one non-OPS).
- Letter from the CIO for the employee and their Human Resources file
- Recognition during the next General Meeting
