Faculty Software Services

UTS establishes contracts with software companies that allow faculty and staff to purchase major software applications at discounted prices for personal and work use.

How Do I Purchase Software for an FIU-Owned Computer?

Step 1: Choose any program from the available software list and obtain purchase approval from your department.

Step 2: Contact the UTS Support Center by calling 305.348.2284. You may also initiate the order for your software by using the UTS Online Service Request System.

Step 3: Complete and return the following: Please update Step 3 to reflect these changes.

  • A Software Proposal
  • A Software License Agreement Form
  • Your payment via SMART BILLING

** All required forms and instructions will be e-mailed to you after a request has been placed with UTS

After step 3, you will be notified within 48 hours on when to pick up your software and product key (provided that all the above-listed documents have been submitted). There are no provisions for returning incorrectly ordered software so please be sure to specify which product, product version, and operating system you are ordering for (e.g. Windows Vista, Mac OS X).

Important note: Unless the software has been site-licensed, you will be required to purchase one license for each computer you intend to run/install the software on (i.e. if you plan on installing the software on five computers, you may only need to purchase one CD, but you will have to purchase five separate licenses).
