Faculty Resource Center
The Resource Center for Educational Technology is a place where faculty can explore the possibilities that exist for teaching and learning with technology. It is a collaborative environment where faculty can work with their peers, trainers and instructional designers, as they explore the latest technology.
At the Resource Center, faculty have access to computer workstations (MACs and PCs) outfitted with a variety of software, the latest in video editing software, and audio equipment for recording and editing. In addition, a digital copy stand for large items, flatbed scanners, and a digital film scanner (for slides and negatives) are also available. Our knowledgeable lab technicians are on hand to help you with tasks such as uploading materials to the learning management system, printing class rosters from Panthersoft, doing a mail merge, or any task which involves the use of our specialized equipment. In addition, our instructional designers are available for consults on the design of your web assisted or hybrid course and the selection of technology for teaching and learning.
The Resource center is reserved for faculty, their graduate and teaching assistants.
The Resource Center partners with CAT, Faculty, and the Division’s training center to provide workshops which are scheduled at different points throughout the year. To view and register for scheduled workshops go to professionaldevelopment.fiu.edu.
