Phishing: Don’t Take the Bait!

Phishing is when you receive an email that imitates a site you trust, like your bank, social network, or FIU, but has a link to a fake website created to steal your personal information.

Attempts are on the rise – protect your information! Remember: no IT representative at FIU will ever ask you for sensitive information (like your Social Security Number) or password in an email. If you receive a suspicious-looking email, we encourage you NOT to engage – simply click on the Phish Alert Button in your FIU email or forward it to abuse@fiu.edu.
